The candle category lives in extremes - on one hand there are the sophisticated scents that are almost too expensive to burn, and on the other end of the spectrum there are the more affordable brands that use cheap ingredients. But there wasn't anything in between that used high-quality fragrance and materials, or any brand that understood that candles are, above all, home decor. Abigail Cook Stone, Founder and CEO of Otherland, had an obsession with candles, art, and design, and set out to create a new kind of candle brand - one that offers a “consumable experience.” Otherland has amassed funding from the founders of Dia & Co, Casper, and Venmo, as they continue to bring the energy of art, design, and fragrance to every moment at home.
